Italics or Quotes for Book Titles

Do you use Italics or Quotation Marks for titles?

Use italics when referring to the title of a book, magazine, journal or newspaper. When you want to mention the title of a particular chapter or an article, use quotation marks around the name.

For example:

She loved reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Her favourite chapter, “The Firebolt”, has a major plot twist.

Did you read the article, “The Art of Happiness” that appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald on Sunday?
